HOW
TO PLAY BLACKJACK
When you are ready to play you place your bet in the box
in front of you.
The
dealer then deals two cards face up to all players and
one card face up and one face down for the dealer.
The
object of the game is to beat the dealers hand without
exceeding 21. If you have the same score as the dealer
it is a stand off. The dealer must take a card if his
total is 16 or below, if it is 17 or over he must stand
and cannot take a card. If dealer or players cards total
22 or over they are bust and lose.
Remember you are only trying to beat the dealers hand.
On the other page is the basic strategy to use in
Blackjack. It is not compulsory to follow the strategy
but if you do it will give you the edge over the casino.
The key to decide what you should do is linked to the
card the dealer is showing. Based on that information
you can then decide what action you should take.
You can have up to four options on your turn
STAND
You do not take another card and your turn finishes.
HIT
You ask for another card and providing you dont go
bust you can then either stand or continue to hit until
you stand or bust
DOUBLE DOWN
You increase your bet by the amount of your original
bet and receive one card only. Be guided by the strategy
with this option.
SPLIT
When you are dealt a pair you may split them by
placing a bet equal to your original bet. They then
become two separate hands and you play them as per the
above options except if they are aces when you only
receive one card. Again use the strategy guide but as a
general rule always split Aces and Eights and never
split tens.
If you win you will be paid an amount equal to your
original bet and you keep your stake. Unless you have a
blackjack (Ace & Ten) then you will be paid 1.5 your
original bet. If you lose your chip is taken if you tie
your chip is not taken.
